April 30 – the end of my Got Milk and 10,000 Swings? challenge. I finished the month completing 10,000 swings and even moved up to my 28kg kettlebell. The high-rep kettlebell routine definitely pushes my cardio system.
Kettlebell Swings
Today I increased the weight and shot for 500 reps. Increasing the weight by 4kg doesn’t seem like much, but after doing 500 reps I could feel it.
Here is how I broke down the reps:
- 20 sets of :
- 25 kettlebell swings in 40 seconds
- 20 second recovery period
I alternated my grip from one arm kettlebell swings to two arm kettlebell swings.
Milk Challenge
I’ve been consuming 32 oz of milk every day. So far I am almost done with my 9th gallon. I have one more in the refrigerator.
What’s in store for May?
I haven’t had time to research and pull together my program for the coming month.
Any suggestions?

I just found your site this morning, nice. I do have a question about the 10,000 swing Got Milk challange, apart from making the dairy industry a whole lot of extra mooola did you get any noticable results. If so what?
Thanks, I think I am going to make 10,000 my month before Thanksgiving Challange.
John,
I found more results from the 10,000 swings than from the milk. But that said changing more than one variable at a time is NOT good science.
From the research that I had done most milk-based programs suggested downing 1 Gallon of milk every day. I just couldn’t justify that expense, so I carved it back to 32 oz per day. That adds up at over $3/day.
At some point I would like to revisit it and watch body composition a bit closer and increase my intake to 1 gallon/day.
Good luck with the pre-Turkey day challenge. Watch your form. Anytime reps or intensity goes up two things tend to happen: form degrades with exertion (bad) and poor form will create more problems. (Check my latest post about INSANITY. Idk where the problems came from my poor form or exercise choices that my body doesn’t like.)
Let’s hear how you do.
